Basic search

Type a word or phrase in the Search dialog box and hit the Enter key. This word or phrase should appear in the document and should be closely related to the information you are seeking.

If you do not use double quotation marks, the search engine will find all stemmed variations of the search term.

Example:
Searching for capital finds capital, capitalize, and capitalization.

Tip: Also use phrase searching to find known headings or titles.

Double quotation Marks

Enclose the search term in double quotation marks (" ") to find exact matches.

Example:
Searching for "Deutsche Bank share" only finds documents with the exact text 'Deutsche Bank share'.

Searching with wildcards

A wildcard represents one or more alphanumeric characters in a search term. The two most commonly used wildcards are:

the questions mark ('?') represents a single alphanumeric character in a search expression.

Example:
Searching for 'report 200?' only finds documents, that have words like 'report 2003', 'report 2004' or 'report 2005'.

the asterisk ('*') represents zero or more alphanumeric characters in a search expression.

Example:
Searching for 'a*ount' only finds documents, that have words like 'account' or 'amount'.

Tip: It is usually best to avoid using the asterisk as the first character in a search string

Result list

Documents in the results list are ranked according to how well they match the query. The results are listet page by page. To view further results, click the page number or the "Next"-Link.
